So what is delta-8?
Delta 8, also known as delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the Cannabis sativa plant. This plant has around 66 different types of cannabinoids, some you may have even heard of like CBD and THC. Each cannabinoid has different effects depending on what cannabinoid receptor they interact with. Delta 8 has a similar effect to delta 9 (also known as THC). This has made this specific cannabinoid more popular over the years.
What are its Effects?
Delta 8 can be helpful in many different ways. Some people report effects of pain relief, relaxation, and mild euphoria. Similar to THC you may even have an increased appetite. This cannabinoid is perfect if you like the effects of THC at a lower potency, some people even deemed it the nickname “Diet Weed”. Other delta 8 effects may include
- Nausea relief
- Reducing inflammation
- Reliving anxiety
- Pain management
Delta 8 vs Delta 9 (THC)
This cannabinoid has a large variety of great benefits, sharing many of the effects of THC but just a bit milder. Delta 8 and THC have a similar molecular structure thus sharing many properties. The main difference between the two being THC is more potent than delta 8, other than that they are considered similar to one another. The only other major difference between the two is legality. THC is not federally legal and is even illegal in some states, this makes gaining access to this plant a little difficult. Delta 8 still has some restrictions in certain states but it is more accessible than most THC products.
